Marzio Conti has been the musical director of Oviedo Filarmonia since 2011. He began his career as flutist debuting at the Salzburg Festival with I Solisti Veneti at twenty years old.
He decided to quit his concert activity in the mid-nineties to devote himself to conducting.
As pupil of Piero Bellugi, Conti immediately held positions as chief conductor in various Italian and foreign orchestras. His activity constantly allowed him to direct orchestras and theaters around the world, ranging from opera to symphonic repertoire. In addition, he devoted himself to prestigious collaborations with leading ballet companies.
